Around Broadway and Main there’s a place called Pad Thai Cuisine. The name in itself doesn’t make too much sense since pad thai is a dish. One that is often westernized in Vancouver restaurants as a tasty but oily and saucy dish. Nevertheless, I never had a pad thai I didn’t enjoy.
Like many things about this restaurant, the menu is not flashy, and consists of less than a dozen or so choices of curry, noodles, and rice dishes. The lunch special is very reasonably priced at $5.85 being the bill for all items. All meals start with the offer of a lonely spring roll. The pad thai was actually not recommended by a colleague, so I ordered
The dish was very tasty and exceeded all expectations considering its a few bucks cheaper if it were ordered at other places with better ambiance. A long lineup of customers at lunch suggests that others agree.
